Here are more details on the "Plug and Play: A Forum on the Philippine Gaming Industry" conference that the IT Journalists Association of the Philippines, better known as CyberPress, will hold on Jan. 28 at the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Intercontinental Manila in Makati City.
The conference is open to the public and registration is free. The forum will be from 1-5:30 p.m., with registration starting at 12 noon. Attendees will also have a chance to win raffle prizes, including Nokia N-Gage gaming handhelds and Epson printers. While registration is free, those interested in attending should contact event organizer Events@Work at firstname.lastname@example.org because slots are limited.

Every year, the Information Technology Journalists Association of the Philippines (ITJAP/ a.k.a CYBERPRESS) successfully holds a forum about the most relevant topics and the latest trends and developments in the IT world. The next forum will focus on the GAMING INDUSTRY and its implications on the Philippines in general. Presentations and discussions in this forum will revolve around the following
The development of computer gaming as an industry and as a tool for the academe;
The accessibility and viability of computer gaming as a business; and
The sociological impact of computer gaming on the Filipino psyche as it continues to gain popularity and acceptance among the Filipino youths/adults of today.
The forum, dubbed "PLUG & PLAY: A FORUM ON THE PHILIPPINE GAMING INDUSTRY" will be held on JANUARY 28, 2005. CyberPress intends the forum to be a big event as it kicks off the year 2005 for the local IT world. All effort will be exhausted to bring in top-notch resource speakers for the three discussions. Selected schools and interested organizations will also be invited to have hands-on experience and to participate in the lively and animated discussions.

The IT Journalists Association of the Philippines, better known as Cyberpress, will hold "Plug and Play: A Forum on the Philippine Gaming Industry." Cyberpress president Abi Ho, who is a business reporter of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, said that the conference will tackle the different aspects of gaming, including its business viability and sociological impact. She said that the forum will include speakers from IDC, Spoon Interactive, Level Up!, Intel, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Anino Entertainment, Netopia (Digital Paradise Inc.) and UST.
The conference is open to the public and registration is free. Registration will start at 12 noon and the conference will be from 1-5: 30 p.m. No word yet on the exact venue at the Hotel Intercon, so stay tuned.
