You have to experience it for yourself, so check out the EGG (Extreme Gaming Grounds) digital entertainment center at The Promenade in Greenhills. It's near Greenhills Theater Mall.
Here's an excerpt for my YOU Technogear story:
I HATE EGG.
At the launch of the first EGG (Extreme Gaming Grounds) digital entertainment center on Dec. 16 at The Promenade in Greenhills, I got to play Soul Calibur II and Halo 2 on the Xbox with other tech journalists. Sure, I have an Xbox at home and I've already finished both games, but it's not everyday I get to play them on a 42-inch, widescreen plasma TV while surrounded by other enthusiastic gamers in a state-of-the-art cybercafé, gaming center and restobar rolled into one -- the first of its kind in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
So, tell me: How do I now go back to playing Xbox games on our old TV set back home?
Oh, and in case you haven't heard, Virra Mall is closing down and will supposedly be transformed into an SM-type mall. The current stalls of your friendly neighborhood pirates will be history. We talked to some of them yesterday and they don't know yet where they'll transfer, though I heard rumors that some will be moving to this tiangge at Robinson's Galleria while others will go to Metrowalk along Meralco Avenue.
It's the end of an era and of Virra Mall as we know it if the plan to sell only original goods will push through. They're supposed to move by January, so talk has it that they'll be holding clearance sales by the last week of December or the first week of January.
